What an amazing evening! I have to say that 2023 Garden of Hope Ministries first dinner event was a success.
To those of you that were there, we hope you enjoyed it as much as we did. We are so grateful for each and everyone of you that came to share in the evening. Thank you for filling the room with your bodies and smiles and making it so meaningful! You all were such a blessing and your presence was a very important part of the night. You were such an encouragement from the LORD.
HERE IS A RUNDOWN OF THE NIGHT’S PROGRAM:
Check back for updates. Thank you for your patience.
Tarah Cahalan, GSCC-Pastor Greg’s wife, and Tina’s dear friend – Was our welcoming MC
Pastor Mark Johnston, Springwater Baptist Church and champion supporters – opened us in prayer
Tina shared thanks and recognition for the dinner team and past Garden of Hope involvement to present. Then she led a BB Demonstration (with Stan McPherson assisting) Illustrating the immense grief, loss, and problem of abortion in our world compared to other horrific attacks against human life created in God’s image. Approximately 56,000,000 lives are taken by abortion around the world each year (Lifeinternational.com).
In addition, awareness was created over the high and rising percentages of chemical abortions (50-60% or more over other abortion procedures) being performed by the expecting mother, alone and in the isolation of her own bedroom and bathroom – making her home no longer a safe and peaceful place to live. These are small white pills being prescribed by school nurses and ordered online without any medical care. The bad news of her talk ended with the reality of Oregon continuing to have zero protective laws for pre-born children. We are termed a “sanctuary state”. In reality, a mother’s womb is the most unsafe place for a child to be in Oregon. People are flown into PDX to go to the downtown late-term abortion facility. :(((((((
We all joined in prayer asking the LORD to forgive this grave reality of abortion and lead our hearts and lives toward His will and ways to find healing and be life-givers.
Ron and Arlene Kampe, Champion Partners – shared their testimony of why and how they partner through all aspects: prayer, serving, generous monthly giving
We watched a Garden of Hope Video created by Zee Farrouge and Bailey Rapp, Good Shepherd Community Church
Elaine Smith, Hope Heals participant and volunteer/partner – shared a powerful life changing abortion healing testimony from carrying the heavy “backpack” of abortion pain and grief in her life to experiencing new found identity and freedom in Christ.
Pastor Brian Arnold, Lynchwood Church of God and GoH church partner – Keynote Speaker: He inspired and encouraged our guests as he taught on Isaiah 61 and the story of the Apostle Paul and how God transformed his story (his past) from a story of shame to a story of joy. “Jesus doesn’t just buy the person, he buys their story too.”
Carrisa’s – Client Testimony Video – created by Zee Farrouge and Bailey Rapp, GSCC
And I, Tina wrapped-up the evening by sharing a story about a recent phone conversation I had with a solicitor. The LORD gave me an open door to share the bad news then the Good News Gospel of Grace – our “Life Line” that came over 2000 years ago. I proceeded to invite her to believe in her heart. (Romans 10:9) Her response, “I do!! I do!!!”
The theme for Garden of Hope and for the evening was “Where Love Grows Hope”.
It is an honor and privilege to be a community of people that demonstrates love and hope through our ministries.
Our desire is that it would all point to the saving and greatest love of all that is found through Jesus. Through faith in Him we receive forgiveness, the transforming and healing power of His Spirit within, and the hope of eternity with our Father in Heaven and the family of believers.
Our fundraising goal is $25,000. We are currently at approximately $16,000. We praise God for your generosity and partnership for life.
